Jackson, MS Hosts Music/Tamale Festival

The first annual Southern Crossroads Music and Tamale Festival will premiere in Jackson, Mississippi on August 10 to 12. The Festival will be a three-day outdoor/indoor music and culinary experience that will be the first of its kind in the South.
The Festival is the brainchild of Southern Crossroads syndicated radio show host Pat LeBlanc who says: “This festival will be an opportunity to experience the best the South has to offer in cuisine, music and unparalleled hospitality. This event will highlight both recognized and new musicians, established and local craftsmen and tamales and southern inspired food from all over the State.”

The festival will feature a combination of outstanding musical acts from classic R&B, Blues and Country to aspiring talents in Jazz, Americana, Zydeco and more. Musical artists appearing include Stave Azar, Hope Waits and Eric Lindell. The Festival will take place at the Mississippi State Fair Grounds. Daily general admission is $25 and a weekend pass is $48. Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster and the Mississippi Coliseum Box Office the first week of May.

In addition, the Festival will highlight Real Time Art, live art expressions in nearly every medium including painters, sculptors, wood carvers, documentary makers, photographers, dancers and more. Attendees will be watching the artists in action and be invited to participate.
